For landlords and holiday-let owners
Clear information for anyone responsible for other people's homes.
Your obligations
In England, private and social landlords must fit a carbon monoxide alarm in any room used as living accommodation that has a fixed combustion appliance (excluding gas cookers). Rules differ in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and holiday lets have their own fire-safety duties. Always check the current guidance for your property.
