This policy explains what personal data HALDEN collects when you visit our website or buy from us, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Who we are
HALDEN ("we", "us") is responsible for your personal data. Questions about this policy or your data: email hello@halden.shop. Our full details are at the end of this policy.
2. The data we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), and delivery and billing addresses.
- Order details: what you bought, when, and how much you paid. Payments are handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login and order history.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or our contact forms, including photos or videos of a fault, and any reviews you write.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser, device and how you use our website, collected with cookies (see our Cookie policy).
- Marketing preferences: whether you've chosen to receive marketing emails from us.

4. Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you've ticked the box to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us. Order and delivery emails are still sent, as they're part of your order. We never sell your data.
5. Who we share your data with
We share your data only with the companies that help us run our business, and only what they need:
- Shopify, which runs our online shop, checkout and order emails (including Shopify Email for marketing).
- Payment providers: Shopify Payments (including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay) and PayPal.
- Our fulfilment partner and delivery companies, who pack and deliver your order.
- Judge.me, which sends review requests and publishes reviews.
- Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept analytics or marketing cookies.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant, and authorities where the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Some of these companies store or use data outside the UK, including in the EU, the US, Canada and Asia, where our fulfilment partner is based. When they do, we make sure your data is protected by UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
7. How long we keep your data
- Order and payment records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Warranty records: for the length of your warranty.
- Messages: 2 years after we last hear from you, unless they relate to a warranty claim.
- Accounts: until you ask us to close your account.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe.
8. Keeping your data secure
We use secure, encrypted systems and limit access to people who need it. Card payments are handled by PCI-compliant providers.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that's wrong
- ask us to delete your data
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another company
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it

10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
11. Children
We only sell to adults aged 18 or over, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
